Squirrels Drop Pair To Pfeiffer; Sunday Game Time Moved Up To 11:00 AM

Mary Baldwin dropped both games of its doubleheader Saturday to Pfeiffer, losing the opener 14-2 and the second game 18-3.

Mary Baldwin took kthe lead in the opener with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Noah Kessler led off the game with a double and Michael Robertson was hit by a pitch. After a double steal, Kessler scored on Tucker Hensley's groundout to put the Squirrels on the scoreboard. Robertson scored on Colby Cheatham's RBI-single for a 2-0 MBU lead.

Pfeiffer answered with four runs in the top of the second inning to take the lead for good.

Seven different players had a base hit for the Squirrels in Game 1.

In the second game, Hensley accounted for all three Mary Baldwin runs with a pair of homers - a two-run blast in the fifth and a solo shot in the seventh. Robertson also had two hits for the Squirrels.

Due to the weather forecast, Sunday's game between the two teams will start at 11:00 a.m.
