Piedmont Remains Undefeated in USA South Women's Basketball

STAUNTON, VA - Piedmont College improved their record to 10-0 in the USA South Athletic Conference this afternoon with a 129-29 over Mary Baldwin College in women's basketball.

The Lions built their lead with a full court press.  The visitors created 36 Mary Baldwin turnovers that resulted in 61 points for Piedmont.  The Lions also shot an impressive 58% from the floor and 54.8% from behind the arc.

Piedmont's balanced scoring attack was led by Mary Kate Rushton who tallied 15 points.  She was followed closely by Symone Bell who added 12 points.  The Lions also had two players with 11 points and three players added 10 points. 

Piedmont also controlled the boards.  Carly Sales led the effort with 9 boards.  Symone Bell added 8 while Abby Craven finished with 7 rebounds.

Teanna Peavy led Mary Baldwin with 14 points.  Four Fighting Squirrels finished the day with 4 rebounds each.

Mary Baldwin College 0-18 (0-10 USAS) hosts Greenboro College next Saturday in their final home contest this season.
