Seve Cox assumed the postion of sports information director at Mary Baldwin for the 2021-22 school year.
Prior to coming to MBU, Cox worked at Bridgewater College for 21 years. He served as sports information director form 2000-12 and the associate director of ahtletic communications from 2012 until his retirement in June, 2021.
During his career at Bridgewater, Cox worked with 22 different sports. During his final six years at Brigewater he was the primary contact for baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and equestrian.
He directed media coverage for the 2001 football team that went to the Stagg Bowl and finished as national runner-up. He also directed media coverage for the 2003 football squad that advanced to the national semifinals, the 2014 NCAA regional finalist baseball team and the softball team that advanced to the regional final in 2007 and 2008.
Cox also worked closely with Bridgewater College's Athletic Hall of Fame committee, conducting research on potential Hall of fame candidates and potential teams of distinction.
Prior to working at Bridgewater College, Cox was the sports editor of the Staunton Daily News Leader for 10 years from 1990 to 2000.
He is currently the general manager of the Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League.
Cox graduated from Bridgewater College in 1981 with a degree in health and physical education.
