MBU Stops Juniata 5-1 For Second Straight Win

Mary Baldwin's Tucker Hensley pitched a complete game Saturday in a 5-1 victory over Juniata for the Fighting Squirrels second straight victory.

Hensley pitched the first complete game in program history, allowing just one run on four hits. Hensley struck out seven and walked two.

MBU took the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Michael Robertson reached on an infield single and stole second. Robertson moved to third on an errant pickoff attempt and scored on Dylan Rankin's single up the middle for a 1-0 lead.

Juniata tied the score with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Squirrels regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Robertson led off with another infield hit, moved to second on a balk and took third on a fly ball to right field. He scored on a wild pitch for a 2-1 MBU lead.

With one out in the seventh, Jacob Cude singled and Rankin was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Jared Mayhew chased Cuda home with a double, putting MBU up by a 3-1 margin. After Colby Cheatham walked to load he bases, Blake Frecnh hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Rankin to make it 4-1.

MBU added its final run in the eighth when Noah Kessler scored on a passed ball.

Robertson, Cude, Rankin and Mayhew each finished he day with two hits to lead MBU's nine-hit attack.

The Squirrels return to action Sunday when they host Wilson College for a doubleheader.
