STAUNTON, Va. - Mary Baldwin baseball hosted William Peace University on Saturday, losing by a score of 15-3.
Mary Baldwin fell behind early with William Peace scoring two in the top of the first before the Squirrels responded with a run in the bottom of the second on a lead off homerun from Josh Lallo. MBU tied the score in the bottom of the fourth when Lallo went yard again.
The Pacers responded by taking the lead in the top of the 5th but not before the Squirrels tied it again in the bottom of the fifth. A leadoff single by Lucas Chinault was followed by a sac bunt from Will Earnesty. Michael Roberston's opposite field double put Chinault on third and he scored on a Dylan Rankin single, tying the score at 3-3
.
The Pacers then took control of the game with a nine-run uprising in the top of the sixth inning.
MBU is back in action Sunday when the Squirrels host William Peace again in a doubleheader at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
