
STAUNTON, Va. - Greensboro College shot 54 percent from the field in the second half and outscored Mary Baldwin 48-35 in the final 20 minutes to take a 76-68 victory Tuesday night in USA South action.
Mary Baldwin led by as many as 11 points in the first half and took a 33-28 lead into the halftime break.
MBU took its biggest lead of te night, 40-28, on two Luke Ogle foul shots early in the second half. The Pride then hit the Squirrels with a 15-2 run to lead 43-42 with 15-14 left. The Squirrels forged ahead 53-50 on back-to-back 3-pointers by Logan Barbour, but the Pride answered with a 10-0 spurt to take the lead for good, 60-53, with 7:32 remaining.
The Squirrels pulled to within a point, 64-63, on two foul shots by Brett Asbury bofore Greensboro regained control with a 10-1 run.
Asbury paced MBU with 18 points and Brandon Stoudamire added 11.
