
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Squirrels had three players with double digits, Brandon Stoudamire led the Squirrels in scoring with 17 points, shooting 7-of-15 from the field going 2-6 from three, and gathering six rebounds. Brett Asbury almost logged a double-double since he dropped 14 points shooting 6-9 from the field and tallied a team-high 9 rebounds. Jaden Ignacio tallied 13 points shooting 5-for-8 from the field and 1-for-3 from three.
The Squirrels were down early in the first half by a score of 18-11 before the offense got hot and scored 13 unanswered points to take a 26-20 lead with seven minutes left on the clock and finished the half with a 39-34 lead. Out of the half, the Pride scored eight points to quickly take the lead before Squirrels' guard Quentin Hart's 3-pointer put the Squirrels ahead with 12 minutes left to play. Coming down to the end the Squirrels battled back and forth as the clock ticked down before clutch free throws by Mary Baldwin guard Brett Asbury as well as five points in 20 seconds by Hart kept MBU ahead. The Pride was down one with 13 seconds left In the game before a great defensive effort from the Squirrels secured the win. In the game, there were 13 lead changes and nine ties
MBU shot 49.1% from the field and 34.8% from three compared to the Pride's 50% from the field and 36.4% from three. The Squirrel outrebounded the Pride with 32 rebounds to the Pride's 30.

The Fighting Squirrels will return to action Saturday (Feb, 18th) at 4:00 p.m. when they travel to N.C Wesleyan. N.C. Wesleyan is 20-4 on the season and 12-1 in the USA South Conference.
