
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Mary Baldwin men's soccer team ventured into non-conference play Monday afternoon and the Fighting Squirrels dropped a tough 3-2 decision at Lancaster Bible.
MBU got on the scoreboard first when Kyle Creamer found the back of the net in the 12th minute.
Lancaster Bible tied the scored with a goal in the 24th minute and then took the lead with a goal late in the first half. The Chargers added another goal early in the second half to lead 3-1.
Mary Baldwin closed the gap to a single goal when Stephen Blair scored on a penalty kick with less than eight minutes left in the contest. MBU's Dominic Fleming put a shot on goal in the 85th minute but Chargers' keeper Isaac Barrow made the save and the home team held on for the 3-2 victory.
MBU returns to conference play Sunday with a road trip to Pfeiffer.
