STAUNTON, Va. – The Mary Baldwin softball team dropped both games in a conference doubleheader against Pfeiffer University, losing the first game 11-3 (5 Inn.) and the second game 19-6 (5 Inn.) on Sunday afternoon.
The Fighting Squirrels move to 4-16 overall, while the Falcons improve to 21-3 on the season.
The Falcons crushed four home runs by Vada Blue Sherrill, Makenzie Pennell, Kari Westerbeek, and Sara Brown. Sherrill went 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Pennell and Westerbeek each added two RBI.
In Game 2, the Falcons crushed four more home runs with Sherrill, Tyner and Brown adding to their tally on the day and Pennell hitting her first of the afternoon. Sherrill and Tyner each added three RBI and Brown adding four RBI in the game.
Mary Baldwin was led by Alexis Clark who blasted a solo shot to center field and added three RBI in total. Breeden went 1-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
Mary Baldwin will return to action on March 30, when they travel to Meredith for a conference doubleheader set to begin at 1 pm.
