
Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College improved their record to 8-2 (3-1 USAS) this evening with a 93-35 win over Mary Baldwin College in women's basketball.
After building a 25-15 lead with just over 10 minutes into the game, the Pride went on a 11-2 run over the next three minutes to pull away from the Fighting Sqiurrels. The home team continued to roll and finished the half with a 52-20 lead.
Turnovers proved to be the difference in the game as Greensboro scored 44 points off of 45 Mary Baldwin errors. The Pride also controlled the paint scoring 42 points around the basket as well as grabbing 57 rebounds.
Freshman Ayanni Seay led Mary Baldwin with 9 points. Kaybria Johnson followed with 6 points. Shantelle Jennings and Tejava Ivory each added 5.
Freshman Teanna Peavy again led Mary Baldwin in rebounds grabbing 10 this evening. Classmate Tevanah Charlemagne pulled down 5 boards.
Greensboro's balanced scoring was led by Tiffani Stephens, who finished the night with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Joslyn Spires and Shanita Hampton followed with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Mary Baldwin College, 0-10 (0-4 USAS), will have a week to regroup before hosting Averett University next Wednesday.
