STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College basketball team opened their 2015 season with a 25-81 loss to Randolph College this afternoon at the Physical Activities Center on the campus of Mary Baldwin.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 25-7 lead in the first 10 minutes and never looked back. The Fighting Squirrels struggled offensively all afternoon shooting just 17.6% from the floor while the visitors made almost half of their shots attempted.
Kabria Johnson led Mary Baldwin with 12 points while Teanna Peavy grabbed 12 rebounds. Imani Hill added 7 points and 9 rebounds.
Brie Holdren finished the afternoon with a game-high 15 points while teammate Korin Harris added 12 points for the visitors. Randolph was also led by Alexis Calloway and Darian Thornton who grabbed 8 boards each.
Mary Baldwin College 0-7 (0-1 USA South) continues play this weekend when they host Huntingdon on Saturday and LaGrange on Sunday. Both games begin at 1:00 pm.
