Basketball Falls to Greensboro

STAUNTON, VA - Greensboro College defeated Mary Baldwin College 82-50 this afternoon in women's basketball.  With the win, the Pride remains in the top half of the USA South Conference standings.

Greensboro jumped out to a 28-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.  The visitors outscored Mary Baldwin 44-10 in the paint and and also held a 18-4 advantage in fast break points. 

The Pride's balanced scoring attack was led by Alexis Hite who tallied 12 points.  Monica Smalls led the team in rebounding with 14.  Courtney Pearsal added 12.

Mary Baldwin was led by Juanaysa Singletary and Kaybria Johnson who each scored a game-high 15 points.  Johnson also led the team in rebounding grabbing 10 boards.  Johson also added 7 steals. 

After the game, Coach Stephens said, ""We have improved on both ends of the floor since we last played them and it definitely showed today.  We just didn't do it for 40 minutes."

Mary Baldwin College 0-18 (0-10) continue play on the road Tuesday at Salem College.
