
MONTGOMERY, AL - Huntingdon College rallied from a deficit in the first half to defeat Mary Baldwin 75-47 this afternoon in women's basketball.
Savannah Ward scored eight points in the first quarter to give the home team a 18-12 lead after the first 10 minutes. Mary Baldwin then bounced back in the second quarter when Kaybria Johnson went 4 for 4 from the floor including a three point jump shot with just over a minute remaining to give Mary Baldwin the lead at the break.
Huntingdon built a slight lead in the third quarter then rolled in the final quarter outscoring Mary Baldwin 29-9 to take the conference win.
The Hawks dominated the inside outscoring the Fighting Squirrels 50-20 in the paint while also controlling the boards.
Mary Baldwin shot an impressive 38.5% from behind the arc and converted 12 of 17 at the free throw line.
Jenna Dorman led Huntingdon with 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Teammate Juliette Harp added 13 boards.
Mary Baldwin was led by Kaybria Johnson with 18 points. Juanaysa Singletary added 14. Teanna Peavy tallied 10 rebounds while Precious Parker added 7.
Mary Baldwin College 0-14 (0-6 USAS) will be back in action Sunday at LaGrange College. Tip-off is 2:00PM.
