
STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College basketball team fell to Notre Dame of Maryland University this afternoon in women's basketball 49-63.
The Gators jumped out to a 19-12 lead in the first quarter behind Stephanie Roche's 7 points. Roche went 3 for 3 from the floor and 1 for 1 at the charity stripe in the first 10 minutes.
Mary Baldwin put full court pressure on Notre Dame in the second quarter and created more offense to trail by 8 at the half.
The Fighting Squirrels continued to battle in the second half but were unable to overcome the first half deficit.
Zaria Comer came off the bench to tally a double-double for Notre Dame scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Stephanie Roche led the team with 16 points.
Kaybria Johnson led all scorers with 18 points. Rakeema Willis, Teanna Peavy, and Annicia Woods added 8 points each.
Mary Baldwin College (0-8, 0-2 USAS) will take a break for the holidays before returning to play December 31.
