DANVILLE, KY - The Mary Baldwin University basketball team traveled to Danville, KY this afternoon to play in the Centre Tip-Off Tournament.  The Fighting Squirrels faced USA South opponent Maryville College in the first round and fell 29-90.

Maryville College jumped out to a 32-2 lead in the first half and never looked back.

The Scots created easy baskets off of Mary Baldwin turnovers tallying 34 points off of the errors.  Maryville also controlled the paint outscoring Mary Baldwin 52-10 in the lane. 

Maryville was led by Allyson Freiermuth who tallied a double double grabbing 10 boards and scoring 16 points.

Khai Davidson led Mary Baldwin with 9 points while also grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.  Nicole Blackburn finished the game with 12 rebounds while Anna Ramirez tallied 7 points.

Mary Baldwin University, 0-2, continue play on Saturday when they face Covenant College.
