
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Mary Baldwin University women's basketball team picked up a 95-28 victory against Trinity (D.C.) in the Trinity Center on Wednesday night.
The Fighting Squirrels improve to 3-1 while the Tigers drop to 0-4 on the season.
Jalen Gathers led MBU with 16 points on 6-of-12 shootign from the floor. She also had one rebound and two steals.
Hannah Varner and Natasha Porter each finished with 14 points as Varner was 6-of-8 from the field and Porter made 7-of-10 shots. Porter grabbed five rebounds and five steals, while Varner finished with three rebounds and an assist.
Cauy Duboise registered nine points and four rebounds with a pair of steals, while Codie Heilig led with six rebounds.
The Fighting Squirrels shot 47.4 percent (37-78) from the floor, including seven threes and also recorded 23 steals and forced 33 turnovers.
Mary Baldwin returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 23, against Roanoke in the PAC beginning at 2 pm.
