
MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Mary Baldwin University women's basketball team fell at Pfeiffer, 75-51, in Marner Gym on Sunday night.
With the result, the Fighting Squirrels drop to 12-11 on the season with a 7-8 mark in league play, while the Falcons move to 9-13 on the year and 6-8 in the USA South.
Codie Heilig led the team with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting and also pulled down six rebounds. Demet Saygili finished with 11 points and six rebounds to go with four steals and three assists, while Brooke Anders led the team with eight rebounds.
For the Falcons, Brina Bentley paced the game with 23 points to go with seven rebounds and a pair of assists. Kortni Pinion recorded 14 points with six rebounds and four assists, while Regan Allen finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
As a team, MBU shot just 25.3 percent (19-75) from the floor while the Falcons hit on 47.3 percent (26-55) of their shots, including 11 threes. Mary Baldwin outrebounded the home side 48-41.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 to close the regular season against N.C. Wesleyan in the PAC beginning at 2 pm.
