SALEM, Va. - Roanoke College raced out to a 23-10 lead after one quarter Monday night and went on to defeat Mary Baldwin, 74-37, in non-conference action.
The Fighting Squirrels were unable to overcome a cold-shooting performance as the team made just 13-of-48 shots for 26.5 percent shooting from the floor.
Jalen Gathers and Mya Coleman each scored eight points to lead MBU.
Mary Baldwin, now 4-3 overall, will look to snap its three-game losing streak when the Squirrels return to conference play on Saturday with a home game against Salem College.
