
STAUNTON, Va. – The Mary Baldwin women's basketball team lost Saturday evening in conference action against Greensboro College. The Fighting Squirrels were defeated by the Pride 109-59.
The Squirrels had a shootout against the Pride in the first quarter and ended it trailing by three, 23-20,. There were six lead changes before Greensboro's shooting kept the lead and Send The Pride to the half up 49-33. In the second half, the Pride shooting took over in the third and fourth quarters with all five starters for Greensboro scoring in double digits.
The Squirrels had three players in double-digits, Sophomore guard Mekayla Clarke led the Squirrels with 19 points and a team-high four assists and four steals. Junior forward A'Cetta Farrait tallied 18 points on an efficient 7-of-12 shooting and Codie Heilig had 15 points and led the team in rebounds with eight.
MBU is back in action Saturday, at 4:30 p.m. when the Squirrels host N.C Wesleyan in conference action.
