STAUNTON, Va. - N.C. Wesleyan opened up a 10-point halftime lead Saturday and the Battling Bishops defeated Maryu Baldwin, 72-58 in USA South conference action.

The Bishops led 38-28 at the break, but the Squirrels cut the deficit in half when Codie Heilig scored inside, pulling MBU to within 44-39 with 4:53 left in the third quarter. N.C. Wesleyan outscored the Squirrels 15-6 during the remainder of the third quarter to lead 59-45.

Mekayla Clarke paced MBU with 20 points and eight rebounds. Heilig added 18 points and A'Cetta Farrait scored 13.
