
DOVER, Del. -- The Mary Baldwin University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 contest at Wesley on Saturday night.
The Fighting Squirrels garner their first loss of the season and fall to 2-1 on the year, while the Wolverines move to 2-1 overall.
WC found the net first jut 57 seconds into the contest Emily Caldarelli scored to put the team up one. Just a minute later, Wesley found the back of the net again to garner a 2-0 lead. The Wolverines scored once more in the half, another strike by Caldarelli, to set the haltime score at 3-0.
In the second half, Wesley scored twice more before the Fighting Squirrels finallay broke the shutout as Annie Ammons beat the keeper in the 75th minute.
Wesley outshot MBU, 11-5, while each team took four corner kicks.
Mary Baldwin returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 11, as it hosts Wilson at 4 pm.
