Women's Soccer falls to LaGrange

LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Mary Baldwin women's soccer team traveled to Georgia to take on LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Squirrels went on to lose 4-0 and fall to 3-5, while the Panthers improved to 6-3 on the season.

LaGrange opened up the scoring in the 15th minute with a goal by Dynasty Burchett. Burchett went on to score another goal in the 16th minute with an assist from Sydney Dailey. Zoe Watts scored her first goal of the afternoon in the 27th minute and scored her second goal of the day in the 55th minute for a final score of 4-0. LaGrange would outshoot MBU 25-8.

Anyka Wilkin got the loss in the net for the Fighting Squirrels to move to 3-5 on the season. Wilkin also tallied nine saves in the game.

Emma Smith improved her record for the Panthers to 4-3 on the season, while tallying four saves.

The Fighting Squirrels will return to action Saturday, September 28th when they travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on William Peace for a 12 PM matchup.
