Fighting Squirrels Shutout Trinity, 5-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Mary Baldwin University women's soccer team traveled to face Trinity (D.C.) and earned a 5-0 shutout victory on Wednesday afternoon.

The Fighting Squirrels snapped a seven-game losing skid and improve to 4-8 on the year.

MBU started the scoring in the 14th minute as Elena Guy notched her team-best eighth goal of the season. Maggie Olshove added to the lead at the 25:30 mark before Annie Ammons scored twice inside of five minutes to give the Fighting Squirrels a 4-0 lead at halftime.

The Fighting Squirrels added one more score in the second half from Nahimana Scola as MBU finished out the 5-0 victory.

Anyka Wilkin and Dede Kahramen each played 45 minutes in the team's third shutout of the season.

MBU posted 30 shots while holding the Tigers to none on the day. Mary Baldwin also registered eight corner kicks in the win. 

The Fighting Squirrels return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, as it travels to face Pfeiffer in USA South action beginning at 2 pm.
