Women's Soccer Falls At Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Mary Baldwin University women's soccer team fell 8-0 at Pfeiffer in USA South play on Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Squirrels are now 4-9 on the season with a 0-4 league record, while the Falcons are 9-3 overall with a perfect 5-0 record in conference games.

Mackenzie Pruitt scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute before Meredith Manson also netted a goal just 40 seconds later to put the Falcons up 2-0. Pruitt scored again exactly a minute later as Pfeiffer held a 3-0 advantage. Kayla Blankenship netted two goals before the half, and Patricia Summers score with just 20 seconds left in the half.

Pruitt completed a hat trick in the 51st minute and Manson also scored one more to set the final score of 8-0.

The Falcons held a 32-4 lead in shots and also a 5-2 edge in corners.

The Fighting Squirrels return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in conference action at Greensboro beginning at 4 pm.
