SALEM, Va. - Mary Baldwin split its two matches Friday at the Roanoke College Maroon Classic as the Fighting Squirrels swept Hollins before losing to Roanoke College.

MBU won its second straight match against Hollins. The Squirrels dominated the Friday matchup, winning 25-13, 25-8, 21-15.

Sydney Clarke led MBU at the net, finishing with 10 kills. Kate Rudolph recorded 10 assists and Soleil Rios Rolon added 10 digs.

In their second match, MBU lost to Roanoke in three straight 25-22, 25-13, 25-16.

MBU trailed 10-6 in the first set against Roanoke, but battled back to pull even at 14-14. The teams traded points and the score was tied eight more times - the last at 22-22 when a Rachel Christian kill tied the score. Roanoke then ran off the next three points to win the first set.

Clarke once again led the attack with 10 kills. Rudolph finished with 13 assists while Rolon and Christian recorded seven digs each.
