Leading MBU offensively was senior Rachel Christian, who finished with 11 kills. Alexis Edmonds followed with six kills amd freshman Leah Sherrill added a team-best 14 sets/ The Squirrels tallied 11 service aces as a team with Sydney Clarke leading the team with three.
The Fighting Squirrels bounced back in the second set with a 25-21 win after a set-clinching kill by Christian.
For Meredith, both Lauren Bissette and Hailey Long finished with 15 kills to lead their team and stop the momentum of the Squirrels.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action Saturday (Oct, 1) at the Southern Virginia quad-match, playing against Pfeiffer at noon and Brevard at 2:00 p.m.
