
STAUNTON, VA, - The Mary Baldwin University women's volleyball lost Wednesday night, falling in three sets (23-25, 11-25, 17-25) to Meredith in USA South conference volleyball action.
The Fighting Squirrels were led offensively by senior Rachel Christian with 10 kills, while Freshman Leah Sherrill followed with six of her own as well as a team-high 11 assists.
Mary Baldwin held a 20-15 lead in the first set before the visitors rallied as Meredith's Hailey Long scored a set-clinching kill in the first set to stop the momentum for the Squirrels.
The contest was the final home match for Mary Baldwin seniors Christian and Abby Adams.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action Saturday (Oct 22) at Pfeiffer University to play Brevard and Pfeiffer in a USA South tri-match at 12:00 and 4:00 PM.
