FREDERICK, Md. – The Mary Baldwin University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Hood College Open on Saturday
The women's team placed ninth out of 13 teams and the men's team came in 15th.
For the women, Brianna Parker was the top runner as she finished the course in 27:19.9 to place 61st out of nearly 150 runners. Morgan Laferte crossed the finish line in 28:31.7, while Stephanie Barbaro completed the course in 29:23.1. Quinland Musgrove finished right behind her with a time of 29:39.6 and Katelyn Pollock rounded out the scoring runners with a time of 29:42.4.
Caleb Simmons was the top finished on the men's team with a time of 34:06.8 on the 8K course. Romajin Williams finished the course in 35:41.7, while Gregory Woodard finished soon after in 36:14.2. Paul Dearing and Joseph Widger rounded out the scoring times in 36:50.4 and 36:50.9, respectively.
The Fighting Squirrels sit idle until the USA South Conference Championship meet on Nov. 2 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
