Even 26 years after graduation, Gayla “Goldie” Dodson appears in the record books for basketball at Mary Baldwin.  Her Overall Points record of 1331 stood from 1984-2005.  She is currently third in career scoring average with 16.23 points per game.  She is third in career field goal percentage, with a 41.92% shooting average.  Goldie held the rebounds record from 1984-2006 with 711 rebounds.  She is third overall in career rebounds.  Her career free throw percentage of 69.81 is fourth overall in the record book.  During Goldie’s senior year the teams record was 15-8, this is a .652 winning percentage and the third best win/loss percentage for Mary Baldwin Basketball since they joined the NCAA in 1982.

Goldie is the Director of Solid Waste Services for the City of Atlanta.  She was recently recognized during Women’s History Month as a leader in Atlanta of Women working in non-traditional fields.  Goldie coaches a 17 and under boys team who recently won their basketball championship.
