Can Food Drive

The SAAC is hosting a canned food drive! 

Donations will be split between Valley Mission in Staunton and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in Verona.

The SAAC's goal is to collect 1,500 cans, although, any number of donations will help.

Monetary donations will also be accepted to help the organizations purchase other products and supplies.

In the past, MBU's SAAC has participated in Cans Across the Conference, an annual competition between members of the USA South to see who can collect the most cans for charity. Unfortunately, this year's competition has been canceled due to COVID-19.

 "I think it's great that our teams still want to get involved with the project and help the community," said Cauy Duboise, a senior women's basketball player and chairperson for the SAAC.

"Whatever we can donate helps the food pantries have food available for those who really need it," she added.

Donations can be brought to MBU's Physical Activities Center. They can also be given to Duboise or volleyball coach Ruth Thompson.
